“The needs of the Few Outweigh the needs of the Many.”
Why is the greater good often based on the lowest denominator?
Many of our health practices are predicated on such a backward way of thinking. Like all things... We should strive for moderation, even in regards to prevention.
Natural exposure for a healthy organism can develop even more health through a natural adaptation process. Much like letting a child fall off their bike, or an athlete take a hit. These experiences, although uncomfortable, can teach them that falling, or pain in general, can be an incredible & necessary part of becoming better.
But somehow we’ve been conditioned to think it’s detrimental or negative to our physical & mental health... It’s nonsense!
A normal part of being healthy is being sick. To focus all of our energy on the prevention of common & environmental pathogens, instead of supporting & developing a healthier/stronger organism to fight them is a very broken & backward way of thinking.
If we spent a fraction of the time, money & resources teaching our communities to be healthier through daily habits impacting their physical & mental wellbeing... the bully that is chronic illness & seasonal hysteria would practically cease to exist.
Compromising for the sake of a bully, while constantly tip toeing & postulating “what if,” is exactly what any bully would strive for.
Eating to prevent disease makes as much sense as; learning to walk so that you can find a place to hide...
We need to inspire people to focus more on our quality of life as a measure of health...not just the weight we lose & not dying.
We’ve become more concerned with the things that have a One in a Million percent chance of hurting us, distracting us from the things with a one in 10 chance.
Please listen to me.
Eat to live & live to do more than exist.
Begin to practice this daily & it will all make sense. It’s literally the difference between walking to go somewhere amazing -vs- walking somewhere to hide away from what scares you. Two totally different experiences from the same action.
Think about it.
