Yes, your excuses are true... But they do not need to be your focus.
There will always be reasons for or against any decision, small or large. It all boils down to the question; do you want “it” more than you want to be limited by your excuses?
Everyone says, "Don't make excuses", right? Everyone knows that phrase... Then why do we keep repeating it? Why do we keep having to repeat it when we all know we shouldn't make excuses?
It's because those excuses are true. That's how they suck you in. That's how they turn you into someone that is helpless. That's how they stop you from reaching your true potential.
Good or bad... Whatever you tell yourself, it's true. it's valid. it's real.
“Those who think they can & those who think they can’t, are both correct.”
~Henry Ford
There are things you can tell yourself daily, that will move you forward, that will help you grow, & that will help you feel better about yourself, no matter what happened to you.
Telling yourself that you are a learner, that any form of criticism, from any source (including yourself). positive or negative simply improves your focus & determination. Use your excuses, your discomfort to act as a focal point for positivity & growth. All criticism, even self criticism, will help you grow if you have the right perspective.
The great news is; We’re all hopelessly average. Even the most successful... Its their mindset, their perspectives that set them apart. You too are capable of changing your life, simply by changing your perspective.
